School is Cool

It’s time to get ready to go back to school! Maybe you’re heading off to college, you have a child in grade school, or maybe you’re lucky and you’re done with your education! But almost everyone knows someone that’s in some type of schooling. Through my years in college there were some things I learned that helped me out immensely, and I think they can be applied to other people and their situations as well. Gearing up for the school year doesn’t have to be stressful, and I promise you can survive it successfully and happily!

Plan, plan, plan!!!!! A planner will save your life. Whether you’re using it to keep track of all your kiddos functions/homework, or you need to know when your book report is due, USE A PLANNER! A planner will help you in ALL areas of life. I’ve found that I’m functioning at my highest performance when I have something to reference for my days ahead. It can take a while for you to get used to jotting everything down, but once you start using a planner you’ll never go back.

Take some time for yourself. This is very important!!! Too many people get caught up in the stress of the school year starting again. Make sure you treat yourself to a day just for you before getting back into your school routine. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on this day either. When I have a ‘treat myself’ day, I go for a hike, take a bubble bath, or binge my favorite Netflix show in bed. You’re going to be working hard in the coming months, so remember to also have ‘treat yourself’ days as much as possible to keep yourself level headed.

Get into a routine! Wake up at the same time every day, try to eat your meals at the same time, and get to bed at a decent hour every evening at the same time. Most people don’t do this and don’t realize how quickly this can make your days way more productive. Like using a planner, it can get hard to get into the swing of things. But once you’re on a schedule you’ll live by the schedule!

Let me know if any of these work for you, and definitely send me any other tips you might have! Happy schooling, friends!
