Halloween is coming around the corner, and it will be here before you know it! Do you have any family traditions that you do on this spooky holiday? I’m from Portland, Texas. It’s a small town of about 16,000 people and every year my mom would take me and my sister to the Boo Bash. BB was held at 13 acre park (RIP they tore it down), and there were haunted trails, like music, lots of candy, and tons of games to play. It was free and that was probably my mom’s favorite thing. I mostly dressed up as something creepy, and I think my mom loved that too. Other little girls were princesses, cheerleaders, or fairies, and I was a dead doctor or an angry witch. Now I’m pregnant with my own little girl and I am day dreaming about what her first Halloween will be like next year. She’ll still be very small (only 7ish months), but I am so excited to start our own holiday traditions. I will carry over some my mom has given me like carving a pumpkin and salting the pumpkin seeds to eat. If Boo Bash still existed I may even make the 3 hour drive for my little girl to enjoy that too, but I can’t wait to celebrate everything with her!
